Interested?

If you're interested in joining or starting a FIRST robotics team, use the form below to tell us a bit about yourself and we'll help you get started.

A few things to consider before using the form:

  • We are very interested in helping you get started, but we are not able to be in charge of forming or managing teams. Our goal is to help you find or start a team.

  • The FLL (elementary school) and FTC (middle school) seasons for 2014-15 are already underway, this means:

    • It may be difficult to join an existing team

    • If you want to start a team, you should talk with an experienced team to make sure you feel you can accomplish your goals in the time remaining between now and the first tournaments

  • If you are unable to start or join a team for the current season:

    • You may still be able to visit a team's meeting/practice session to get a feel for what things are like. Teams are encouraged to do this sort of thing as part of their community outreach efforts. Each team sets its own guidelines for outreach, so it's not possible for us to guess when/where this may be possible.

    • You can attend any FIRST robotics tournament or other event as a spectator. Official FIRST events are always open to the public and admission is always free. Teams often also host their own public events.

      • You could start a club (as opposed to a competition team) and use a previous season's FIRST challenge as your blueprint. This would allow you to get started with robotics concepts between now and when you are able to join or start a team, without the concern of meeting the tournament deadlines. The specific challenges change each year, so existing teams may be able to sell or give you some of their no-longer-needed equipment.
